We Always Have the Best Time...

That's why you should come around and see us at Fitzpatrick's. Located just across the street from Galveston's famous Tremont Hotel. Fitzpatrick weathered the Great Storm of 1900. Now, in 2006, the club is the spot to go when you want to have a fun- filled evening, complete with familiar tunes and off-the-wall stories as told by Mike, bandleader of the Mike Kelly Group.

 
It All Started One Day, Way Back When...

Mike met up with this cat named Woody Dixon. Noticing that Woody plucked a mean mandolin, Mike convinced him to join him in the pursuit of making the people of Galveston (and Galveston County) marvel at the unique use of this 8-stringed acoustic instrument. 

 
Then One Thing Led to Another...

Eventually a miscreant from the nearby town of Houston was recruited to joined the group to add a high end (and occasional low end) to the august duo's inimitable palette. Before anyone knew what was happening, Rawslyn Ruffin had become a member of Galveston's most eclectic Rock 'n' Roll group.

Today, the Mike Kelly Group plays to astounded but happy audiences weekly at Fitzpatrick on Mechanic St., just around the corner from the Galveston's historic Strand.
